And there I am. Tail end of 2023, kayaking the beautiful waters of Portugal with my girlfriend. It had been almost three months of traveling abroad, and I was readying myself to plunge back into routine. There were good feelings about coming home—I missed my family, friends, my dogs, and, dare I say it, even work.
Nothing lasts forever, and a few weeks after touching back down in Australia the honeymoon period started to wear off. I was back to my old routine: Same commute, same workout schedule, same food. I'd lost the spice. I needed to shake things up, to get back outdoors. But it was hard...
